The location is perfect. Conveniently close to touristic attractions, so that we entered hotel for short resting periods and get out for sightseeing again. Recommended especially for short stays cuz its location is a time saver. The bed is really comfortable and the bathroom was clean and new. Our stay/experience was in general satisfying. The only warning for guests would be the age of the building, doors, furnitures are quite old(but not broken just old) sometimes we were hearing the footsteps of the guests from the above room ( but as we were tired as hell it didnt affect our sleep quality )

This is the oldest hotel in Edinburgh, which is charming! If old isn't your choice then don't stay here. We love it. The location was amazing. Walk out the door puts you across the street from Waverly Station and bridge. Close to walk up the Royal Mile to the Castle....and a short walk to Carlton Hill. The was comfortable. The bathroom is a good size. The bar overlooks the city at night. Breakfast had so many options, and it was lovely. There are stairs up to the reception but the staff will carry your luggage up. The lift works quite well. We will return!

The location was perfect. It was a short walk from the train station. Apparently my room had been upgraded because I had a lovely view of the Sir Walter Scott statue and Old Town. You can walk to the major tourist sites. The room was small but I was comfortable and a room with a view is special to me. The bus stop for the bus to the airport is just around the corner. I had to leave earlier than the time the included buffet breakfast opened. I was able to order a room service breakfast though which was very helpful. I would stay here again.

The location is ideal, on Princes Street, perfect for exploring this beautiful city. Fantastic view from my window. The staff were charming and helpful and my room was immaculate. Very comfortable bed. Buffet breakfast was a great start to the day (excellent coffee). There are steps up to reception, but porterage was available and prompt As a. Solo female traveller I felt respected and safe. . I would certainly consider using the Waverley when I return to Edinburgh.

I stayed at this hotel from 27th February to 1st March and genuinely enjoyed my accommodation. The location is superb – just a 3-minute walk from the train station and within easy walking distance of Edinburgh’s main attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making the stay even more pleasant. The room was comfortable, and everything was well-maintained. Overall, a great place to stay in Edinburgh, and I’d happily return.
